First Purchase of Ethereum
Currently its prices is really low! at the time of Writing it was $9.08 USD
I have an account over at gatecoin.com which i can trade for Ethereum Quite Easily using Bitcoin
Was going to use Bittlicious but their min Ether Purchase is 10 which would have ended up costing me around £79 which I did not want to spend that much as it is
So instead i traded some Bitcoin for Ether
It was very simple
I logged on to gatecoin.com
Deposited some Bitcoin around −0.04791913 BTC / £13.65 from Coinbase to my gatecoin generated wallet
and from there I was able to trade for 2 Ether
Easy pain free process!
Lets see how it goes

Earn Free bit coins
I recently came across this website
A website which gives out Free Bitcoins or Satoshis (Allegedy so it claims!) So i thought let me give it a try why not to see if i can build up my balance
So i created an account used my email address and signup was very easy
Upon logging on to the site at first it just looks like one of those 90's style website designed in MS Frontpage with ads all over the page
http://freebitco.in/?r=2261029
So logged on and it seems to be full of games like guess the number and all sorts of stuff. Everything is for free and you can play different games to earn satoshi (note its games only. I do not condone gambling whatsoever nor do i support it) so no money is involved on this site and I would not promote such schemes either!
If its free why not?
Also Check out
https://99bitcoins.com/
Subscribing to their Email List gives you 100bits! The site is full of information and articles for those new to bitcoin! (Well I have subscribed already just waiting to see if i get the bits after i had to email them info about myself)
Perhaps all these Faucets As they call it may add up to get bit coins...However i dont plan to spend all my time playing these games so anything as gained is a bonus!

1 Bitcoin!!!!
Made a Deposit of £75 Today to make my total ownership of
1.00353572 BTC
Quite happy about it for some reason!
So brings me total Spending to
£200 + £20 + £75 = £295!
Bitcoin rate at the moment is a bit low its currently hovering on around $413 USD / £287.28
To calculate it if i was to sell it right now it would be equal to £284.93 (Including 2.88 Coinbase Fees)
So would be at a loss by £10
Quite hopeful (IA) that it will the price will go up especially closer to Halving period which is due around
end of July
There is speculation that the price can go really high
On another Note Ethereum seems to be rising quite high currently it is sitting on $15 and have seemed to go quite high over the past few days
I will definitely be keeping my eye on that with a potential to invest
In the meantime my i am also keeping an eye on
BitShares (BTS)
Unobtainium (UNO)
and Ether

£200 of Bitcoin!
at the current rate of $413 Dollars
My current bitcoin Balance now stands at
0.7553675 BTC
My Total investment so far towards the First bitcoin is £220
+ I got an extra £7 Worth of Credit free from Coinbase because i had signed up using a referral ID
Feel free to signup using this link
https://www.coinbase.com/join/56c1f86f1d4a4d3f56000009
Once you spend over $100 USD worth of Bitcoin you will get £6 (10 USD) worth of free Credit as well as me so really good added Bonus
Yesterday the Price of Bit coin hit over $420 and as of today (Saturday 12th March 2016) its falled down to $413 so thought I would try buy in for now
Just as a quick calculation of Returns if I were to sell what I have at the moment on coinbase it would return the following:
0.7553675 BTC = £221.03
- Coinbase Fees = £2.21 = £218.82
Which means currently I am at a loss of -£1.18
But the Value of Bitcoin has gone down a great deal today..
Once the Price Raises up again I'm sure the Loss will turn into a small profit

First Post - The Journey to Cryptocurrency
This is my First Post in my Journey of Investing into CryptoCurrency.
Reading all this stuff about Bitcoin, Ehtereum, Crypto Currency etc has just made me more curious and curious especially as I am from a Digital Background!
Anyway.. Few Weeks ago I knew absolutely nothing much about Bitcoin (Apart from the Fact that its some big thing everyone is talking about and how someone sold a pizza for 10,000 bit coins many years ago and now its worth around £5.1 million! So I thought to myself why not lets see what the fuss is all about...
Ethereum...got introduced to this recently and people are saying it could be the next bit coin 2.0 perhaps?
Anyway my goals are to own atlest 1 BIT COIN
and also play around with Ethereum
So i shall be using this blog to document what I have done so those of you who wish to follow or take part and invest yourselves can see how i have decided to approach it. Maybe the right way or maybe the wrong way but i plan to learn along the way!
Firstly I have been hooked onto this forum
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0
Wealth of Information there talking about Cryptocurrency some EXTREMELY good information on there and worth a read
Anyway this is what I have done so far
1) Created a new account with www.Coinbase.com, there I plan to Purchase Bitcoins
Signup process is simple quite a lot of verification and personal information is required but its all good for security reason I have also downloaded the Coinbase Wallet app on my phone but it seems buggy for now so I have just resorted to the Website for now
Each time you sign on to the Website is has 2 Factor authentication meaning it will send you an SMS message each time you wish to login and you need to enter the verification code sent by SMS to to access the site. It also give you an On-line Wallet which you can store your Bitcoins too which generates an address - This address is required in order for you to receive bitcoints to your wallet and stores it!
2) 1 BTC today was £288.30 - I decided to invest £20 towards the bit coin which i shall be building up slowly and slowly .. coinbase charged a .40p Fees so my currently balance at the moment shows up as
0.06790685 BTC ≈ 19.60 GBP
So hopefully intend to build up and add funds towards the goal of one bitcoin. Will wait around for a day or so to check the price till it goes down a bit before purchasing some more
3) I am looking at Ethereum at the same time
So far i have signed up to the following site
www.kraken.com - signed up Saturday night had to send over so many documents I am still not authorised yet so will have to wait
www.coingate.com - Same as above but got verified within 24 hours, however in order to purchase ETH I need to Bank Transfer a deposit to an International Bank account - which honestly has put me off a bit as they were based in Hong Kong, not so much the trust issue as they seem a legit and big company but the hassle of everything and how much would ACTUALLY be deposited once currency has been converted. So this was a put off
https://bittylicious.com/ - These guys seems ideal as they are UK based and allows me to purchase ETH via UK Debit/Bank Transfer which was ideal because i could pay in Pounds
Today ETH Rate on bittlicious was
Bank transfer £7.2877/ETH
Credit/debit card £7.6926/ETH
Considering yesterday the price was around £8.60 today it took a hit so i am going to wait a few days hoping it drops down then i plan to purchase probably around 5 ETH to start off with
I am convinced that ETH will become quite big, how big i would not say something to retire off with but I think we could profit on this a bit enough to be happy about, so i shall refer to this Post later down my journey!
The next thing to store ETH is finding an On-line Wallet
I went to the official ETH Site for their Wallet https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases/
However i could not find a version for windows 32bit for some strange reason! for Version 0.5.1 so i'll check back in a few days
I did find https://www.myetherwallet.com/ which seems interesting so i shall give it a go in a few days time or so
Let see how this goes!
